I had been ill with the flu just recently. My nose was stuffed slightly but running out clear. It was also running down the back of my throat. I had a sore throat for 2 days, chills, fever, and some intestinal issues. It's been two weeks now and, I have a dry hacking cough with nothing coming up. It's been difficult for me to breath....that is, taking a deep breath....I cannot seem to get enough air into my lungs. My throat also feels like there is something stuck in it and like its closing up...and it's hard to swallow. I can breath through my nose but it's still running....seems like a post nasal drip out of the nose and down the back of the throat. I took some Mucinex but think maybe I got an allergic reaction i.e. - difficulty breathing. What can I do to be able to breath naturally again? I do have GERD but haven't had any issues for years. Could my GERD have become active again from the flu and/or Mucinex?? I'm desperate for some relief. By the way, I have a lot of allergies and have to be careful what I take. Thank You for any suggestions.
