Reproductive System
Know Your Reproductive System

Introduction

The reproductive system is a group of organized structures that make possible the creation, or reproduction, of new life for continuation of a species. Human reproduction is sexual, meaning that both a male and a female contribute genetic material in the creation of a new individual. During puberty, usually occurring between the ages of nine and fourteen, the reproductive systems of both sexes mature. The ovaries of a female release eggs (female sex cells) and a male's testes produce sperm (male sex cells). Reproduction occurs when a sperm unites with an egg, a process called fertilization.

This is the system crucial to the survival of human race.  The reproductive system is a collection of internal and external organs — in both males and females; working together for the purpose of producing an offspring, or procreating.  The reproductive system makes life possible.  The human cycle would end.

All living things on this planet reproduce more of their own kind, and they do so in one of  the two ways :  Some organisms reproduce by splitting in half or by growing buds that eventually turn into copies of the original organism. This method, in which a single organism reproduces itself, is called asexual reproduction.
The reproductive method whereby a male and female of a particular species interact and exchange genetic material to create offspring is called sexual reproduction. Humans reproduce by the latter.
In order for sexual reproduction to occur, both the bodies are designed in way to give birth to a new life.  A woman’s  ovaries produce ova (eggs) and a man’s testes produce sperm.  After an egg has been fertilized by a sperm, it grows inside the woman’s uterus to produce a new Human being....

This system is the source of your birth, you came into existence because of this very system.  Thus,an understanding of  your reproductive system, it's functions and it's care is an integral part of both : your general health and sexual health.

Function:

The function of reproductive system is replication.   The hereditary traits are passed on from both the parents to their children.  The major function of the reproductive system is to ensure that the human  species survives.
Other functions are:
To produce egg and sperm cells
To transport and sustain these cells
To nurture the offspring in its development phase
To produce hormones.
The sex hormones play an important role both in the development and function of the reproductive organ and in sexual behavior & drives.
