Herbs to shrink adenoids

My son age 11 has enlrged adenoids. The ears are also getting affected again and again. We waited for quite a long time, but as they have not shrunk, had planned surgery this jan. Due to some unavoidable reasons surgery postponed for couple of months now after exam times. Came across this site which seems to offer the sanest/balanced advices I have ever seen. No magic sureshot claims, therefore felt like posting query on internet for 1st time. Are there ways adenoids could shrink at this age? We had gone for homeopathy when he was 4(allergies had just started). But it kind of aggravayed the situation. don't know name of any other med docs were giving but frequently most of the times were giving pulsatilla200. It never worked for him. He has nose blocked or thick green discharge almost all the times ever since. Don't know if swimming in community pools caused it or cold flu related glue ear. Would appreciate any tips although I know at this age probably not much will help.
