Bilberry general

Bilberry is a shrub that grows low to the ground. It is a rich natural source of Anthocyanin. Anthocyanin is a flavonoid pigment which imparts a blue black color to it. It is identical to the Blueberries. However, it is entirely different in its usage. It has high tannin content. It is also used to make Jam, Pies, Syrups and Beverages.
Bilberry is principally used in treating Eye problems. It improves eyesight and is effective in night blindness, Macular Degeneration, Light Adaptation, Photophobia, and Myopia. When the vision is blurred, take Bilberry to improve Vision.
For cataract and Retina disorders, Bilberry is a great help. It helps to maintain overall health of the Eyes.
Bilberry affects the fine blood vessels that supply blood to Retina of the Eye. This helps in treatment of Retinopathy.

Decoction: Make a tea.
Put l/2 teaspoonful of the powdered root or leaves in a cup of water. Boil it. Simmer for 10 minutes. Drink three times a day.
Chew:
It may be chewed as such.
Fresh Berries : 165-400 g daily.
Single Herb

Bilberry for Age Spots

Eat 4-5 fresh Bilberries daily.
OR : Take Bilberry extract ( 80 to 160 mg ).

Bilberry for Liver

Drink one cup Bilberry fruit juice daily for 15 days.
Caution : Don't use more than 15 days at one time. If needed, you may continue after a break of one month again.

Bilberry for Cataract

Prepare a decoction of the roots of Bilberry. Have it twice a day.

Bilberry for Variocose Veins

Prepare a decoction of the roots of Bilberry. Have one glass two times a day.
Or: Take two capsules daily.

Bilberry for Chilblains

Have juice of Bilberry. It is used in the treatment of Vein and Lymphatic disorder.

Bilberry for Gout

Have 3-5 fresh Bilberries daily.
Or: Bilberry Jam is also available in the market. Have one tablespoon once a day after meal.

Bilberry for Diarrhea

Dry the leaves of Bilberry. Make its tea. Have it once a day.

Bilberry for Myopia

Bilberry contains Anthocyanins which improves the Eyesight. Anthocyanins have strong Antioxidant property. This property strengthens blood vessels and capillary walls of the eyes. It increases the blood supply to the eyes and helps to cure Myopia.
Add 3 teaspoons of dried Bilberries in 2 cups of water. Boil for 10 minutes. Strain well. Drink 2 to 3 times a day to improve the Eye sight.
