Note: Atractylodes may refer to both Atractylodis Macrocephalae and
Atractylodes Lancea. These are species of same genus.
Uses in Qi deficiency Bai Zhu is useful in treating Spleen Qi deficiency. The symptoms of a Qi deficient body are Chronic diarrhea, fatigue, loss of appetite and vomiting.
It is useful in treatment of Sweating due to Qi deficiency
Bai Zhu is beneficial in Edema due to fluid retention and lack of urination.
Cancer Treatment : Atractylodis Macrocephalae is useful in treatment of Cancers related to poor appetite, dampness and Low energy. It increase the production of white blood cells, inhibits the growth of Cancer cells and promotes phagocytosis.
