Can basil(ocimum basilicum) treat snake and insect bites? or atleast slow the venom of it?

Dear Jon. Yes, Basil can be used for Snake and insect bite. It slows down the poisoning caused. Eating a fistful of leaves and applying a paste of root of the plant can help. It has to be removed and applied simultaneously till the darkening at the spot of bite fades. However, it depends on the severity of bite which may require medical assistance, considering Basil to be an immediate procedure.
