Description
Metrorrhagia is a disease of the Uterus.
An abnormal bleeding from the Uterus other than menstrual periods is Metrorrhagia.
Uterus (Womb) is the muscular Organ present in the lower abdomen of a female behind the Bladder. The fetus develops inside the uterus and get nourishment from it.
Menstrual Cycle is a natural process. It is regulated by the Hormones and Ovaries. The Ovaries secret an egg every month. If the egg is not fertilized by the Sperm, it drops. When the egg is dropped the Uterus sheds its lining and causes bleeding. This bleeding is termed as Menstrual Bleeding.
But a disorder of the Uterus may cause bleeding between menses. This bleeding, which is not associated with Menstrual Periods is Metrorrhagia.

Materia Medica for Metrorrhagia
Single Herb
Capsella Bursa Pastoris ( Shepherd's Purse ) for Metrorrhagia
Infuse 1 teaspoon of the dried herb in one cup of hot water for 15-20 minutes. Drink it for one week before mensis.
Extract the juice of Stinging Nettle leaves by grinding and squeezing them. Consume half cup of the juice divided into morning and evening.
Extract the juice of Yarrow leaves by grinding and squeezing them. Consume half cup of the juice divided into morning and evening.
Prepare a decoction, made of 1 teaspoon of powdered Dong Quai root and one cup of water. Drink it twice daily.
Boil 1 tablespoon of crushed dried Cypress cones in one glass of water for 5 minutes. Let it stand for 10 minutes. Drink it, twice daily before meals.
Infuse 1 teaspoon of the dried Witch Hazel leaves in one cup of hot water for 15-20 minutes. Drink it, twice daily.
