Lichen Planus is a disease of the Skin and Mucous Membranes.
The occurrence of Skin rash due to Inflammation is called Lichen Planus.
It is an inflammatory skin condition that causes purple flat rashes on the Skin. It may occur in genital regions, Mouth and even causes Hair loss.
The exact cause of Lichen Planus is not known. However, autoimmune disorder is considered the main suspect. Normally, the Immune system fights against Infections. When it finds some harmful substances in the body, it attacks them. When something goes wrong with the Immune system, it may even attack the healthy cells of the Body.
