Description

Jet Lag is a disease of the Mind that effects the Whole Body. When the body is unable to adjust with the changed time zone, it is called Jet Lag. It is a result of rapid long distance travel between different time zones. It causes sleep disturbance, fatigue and upset stomach. Jet Lag is not a disease but inability of a body to adjust with new time zone.
Normally, Our body has an internal biological clock. The sleep and wake cycle is connected with the external environment that is light and dark. This process is controlled by the Cardiac Rhythm. It regulates our daily tasks such as Eating, Sleeping pattern and Hormonal Balance.
The hypothalamus hormone is present in the Brain. It collects information about light and dark from the Eyes. Then it sends these signal to pineal gland. The Pineal Gland secretes a hormone melatonin. This hormone induces a sound sleep.
When we travel to different time zones then the natural sleeping pattern of our body gets disturbed. The disruption causes temporary sleep disorders. Body will take some time to adjust with the new time zone.
